About the Role:
As a Psych Registered Nurse in Lufkin, TX, you will be providing vital care to patients in a dynamic environment. This 26-week contract position offers competitive pay and the chance to work with a compassionate team in the field of behavioral health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Administration: You’ll be responsible for passing medications and monitoring patients for reactions or any unusual symptoms.
- Patient Assessments & Charting: Conduct regular assessments, document patient progress, and maintain thorough records.
- Oversee LPNs: In addition to direct patient care, you will also supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to ensure optimal care.
- Comprehensive Patient Care: Deliver hands-on care for patients with intellectual disabilities and other behavioral health needs.
Requirements:
- Licensure: You must be a licensed RN with the ability to practice in Texas.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience is required, though 2+ years in direct care is preferred. Supervisory or charge nurse experience is a plus!
- Hospital/Acute Care Experience: Ideal candidates should have experience in hospital settings, long-term care (LTC), community clinics, public health, or similar environments (Home Health and School Nurse experience will not be considered).
